IT'S WINTER

It is most definitely winter.

I awake most mornings to a cold house. My feet setting foot on a cold wooden floor as I make my way to the bathroom.

After my first cup of tea, I light the wood in the fireplace, and wait for what seems like a lifetime for the metal box to begin heating the room, and my old body.

It is winter, and the world rests, recuperates from a year of productivity, politics and commerce.

I slowly check my emails, looking for any new communication or replies, but am not overly too concerned about what surprises I will find.

I especially like the heat from a wood fireplace. It seems to permeate the room much deeper than a furnace. Gas furnaces are just too clean, too efficient for human habitat. Humans are not clean, and are most certainly, not efficient at the business of living.

It's been an interesting year, don't you think?

Politics as usual, took center stage. And immigration and migration always being good for a string of news stories to hold our attention. With the re election of DJT, the trans community's power hold, took a major hit and is now retreating from public life, in a most spectacular way.

The collapse of the American, and British empires is fully upon us. And Main Street Media, rather than connecting all the dots of the collapse, focus on the micro view of it. We see hit pieces of the White House policies, rather than the destruction of the Western family and the far reaching effects of that destruction. We see news stories about SNAP benefits, rather than any questioning as to why America has 40,000,000 people needing food. That's twelve percent of the nation that would starve if taxpayers weren't on the hook for all this “civic support”

There are few stories about how divided a nation we truly are. Half the country has no problem intentionally killing their unborn children in the womb. But scream at the top of their lungs when the Trump administration intentionally kills people smuggling dangerous drugs into our country. And, the same people screaming at Hegseth about the drug boats, were silent when Obama droned 4000 people to death... and with no warrants.

It is winter, and as close as I sit to my lovely fireplace, I still feel a chill in the air.

In the distance I see a dark storm building. And like most people, I want to believe that it won't be “that” bad.

I sit back, sip my Earl Grey tea, and say a silent prayer that it won't have much effect on my life.

We are in the depth of winter, recuperating, regaining our strength, and prepping for the spring thaw.
